The Friends of the Gile, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit incorporated Wisconsin Lake Association. It has attained the status of a "Qualified Wisconsin Lake Association" because it has met the following stanadards set out in Section 144.253(1) of the Wisconsin State Statutes including:

    • It is incorporated under Chapter 181 of the WI State Statutes

    • It has declared in its Articles of Incorporation adn By-Laws that its substantial purpose is for being incorporated to support protection or improvement of one or more inland lakes for the benefit of the general public AND has demonstrated this through its past actions

    • Allows any individual to be a member who owns real estate within 1 mile of the lake (NOTE: FOG is open to EVERYONE, regardless of property ownership on the Flowage!)

    • Does not limit or deny the right of any member to vote

    • Has been in existence for over 1 year

    • Has at least 25 members

    • Requires membership fees of not less than $10.00 nor more than $25.00 per member annually

The mission of the Friends of the Gile Flowage (FOG) is to preserve and protect the Gile Flowage and its surroundings, and to enhance the water quality, fishery, boating safety, and its aesthetic values, as a public recreational facility for today and future generations.

Membership in FOG is open to any individual, family, business or organization that subscribes to the mission. Memberships are due on January 1st each year.

FOG Events & Meetings are held each Memorial Weekend Saturday.

The Gile Flowage is located in northern Iron County, Wisconsin.
